From Plant to Plate Program at Sylvania Branch Library
Have you been working on your garden all summer, but are now trying to find ways to preserve your delicious, home grown food?
If so, on Monday, August 6 at 7 p.m. make sure to check out From Plant to Plate: Preserving Your Fresh Local Produce. Lee Richter from the Ohio State University Extension Center is scheduled to appear at the Sylvania Branch Library’s meeting room, 6749 Monroe St., Sylvania, OH, to give some pointers on home food preservation.
Richter will highlight common home food preservation techniques such as canning, freezing and drying fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs. This overview session is open to both the novice and the experienced home food preservationist, so regardless of whether or not you’re the next Martha Stewart, be sure to join us to learn more about your garden and how to make it last.
This event is FREE and open to the public.
