The “ALMA West African Dance Fitness Class” is a weekly, Saturday morning class in traditional West African dance, designed to exercise your body & mind, and open your spirit to the healthful benefits of traditional West African music and dance.
Classes focus on FITNESS, and feature warm-ups & stretching, technical instruction & practice, and highlight the unique communication of the traditional West African drum and dance form.
ALMA dance classes feature LIVE DRUMMING from internationally-acclaimed artist & ALMA Artistic Director, Yaya Kabo, and ALMA Musical Director, Pevely.
ALMA dance classes are led by ALMA Director, Allison Kodeih.
No experience is necessary & everyone is welcome, from beginner to advanced!
Best suited for ages 14 and up ~ children with adults are welcome.

Class fee is $10 per participant, PRE-PAY and SAVE, $50 for 6 classes.

ALMA Dance Experience, LLC is a group of professional musicians and dancers bonded in the study, performance and sharing of traditional West African Drum & Dance, Modern Dance, and other World Drum & Dance styles.
ALMA is the only professional West African Drum & Dance ensemble in the Toledo area, and we are proud to have internationally acclaimed musician and artist, Yaya Kabo, originally from Casamance, Senegal, serving as the ALMA Artistic Director since 2007.
ALMA exists to celebrate dance and music, to bring dance and music to everyone, and to capitalize on the talents each individual artist brings to the group, to the stage and to the classroom. ALMA is committed to artistic excellence through continuous study, performance, and sharing of our art forms. ALMA is also dedicated to collaboration; working with other artists to build a larger dance and music community.
