TAHS Offer Great Line Up Of Fall Classes For Kids
The Toledo Area Humane Society Education Department offers a variety of single and multi-day programs designed to appeal to different age groups and interests. To accommodate the busy schedules of students, TAHS offers educational opportunities after school and on Saturdays. We’ve got some great offerings this year:
Pets & Me
Mondays, September 24 through October 22 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Ages: 7 – 10 years old
Join us for this after-school program to learn all about different dog and cat breeds through games, crafts and a scavenger hunt around the humane society. The fee for this class is just $60 and includes all five Mondays.
Petopia Society
Saturdays, October 6 through March 2, 2013 (First Saturday of each month) from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Ages: 8 – 12 years old
Find out about dog and cat breeds, learn about pocket pets and pet body language, play games, make crafts and meet some of the humane society’s furry friends. The fee for this class is $75 and includes all 6 Saturdays.
Fall in Love with Animals
Saturday, October 6 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Ages: 5 – 7 years old
Does your child love animals? This is the perfect class for little animal lovers to discover all the furry (and possibly some feathery) pets at TAHS. Kids will make toys for the animals and play Pet Bingo – shhh, don’t tell them they’re learning while they’re playing! The fee for this class is just $25.
Animal Art Drawing Class
Saturday, October 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Ages: 9 – 13 years old
An art instructor will teach kids the proper techniques to help make drawing animals fun and easy! All art supplies needed for the class are included in the class fee of just $25 per child.

The Toledo Area Humane Society is open Tuesday through Friday from 11am – 7pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10am – 6pm. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization they are committed to the welfare of animals by providing temporary shelter and care while seeking permanent homes.
