Art Tatum Birthday Celebration at Ice Restaurant
Please join the Toledo- Lucas County Public Library’s Kent Branch Library @CCESS Center and the Art Tatum African American Resource Center as we commemorate the birth of Toledo’s most legendary musician, Art Tatum.
The partially blind jazz pianist (1909-1956) would have been 103 this month. This year’s Library celebration of Tatum is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. next Thursday, October 11 at Ice Restaurant & Bar, 405 Madison Ave., in downtown Toledo. This celebration is FREE and open to the public.
Guests will be treated to complimentary cake provided by the Tatum Board. In the spirit of Tatum, two dynamic guest pianists will be on hand to wow partygoers – rising star Josh Silver, and musician John Cleveland. (Guests can order and purchase their own meals from the Ice menu).
Free parking is available after 5 p.m. in the parking lot located across the street from Ice Restaurant.
