National Amtrak Chairman to Address Local Forum
Thomas C. Carper, chairman of the Amtrak Board of Directors, will be the featured speaker at the Passenger Rail Forum Monday, October 22, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Toledo Club, 235 14th Street downtown Toledo. It is open to the public. Elected officials, economic development professionals, and all advocates for passenger railroads are invited to hear the latest news about rail travel in Ohio, Michigan, and neighboring states.
“We are very pleased that Mr. Carper is visiting Toledo,” said Donald Yerks, chair of Northwest Ohio Passenger Rail Association (NOPRA). “His visit is a measure of the importance of Toledo to the Amtrak system, as well as the importance of Ohio to a vibrant Midwestern passenger rail system.”
The annual luncheon meeting is presented by the Northwest Ohio Passenger Rail Association (NOPRA) and the Public Transit & Passenger Rail Committee of the Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments (TMACOG).
