Lights Before Christmas Extended at Toledo Zoo

Posted: Wednesday, January 2, 2013 by: Andi Norman | Category: Arts and Entertainment

Whether you missed the Lights Before Christmas or your family just wants another chance to take in the “electrical spectacle,” the Toledo Zoo offers one more opportunity to experience the area’s premier holiday attraction. Enjoy the Lights one last time at the Encore Presentation — Friday, January 4 and Saturday, January 5, from 3 to 9 p.m. each night.

The Encore Presentation offers your family another chance to enjoy the dynamic new Winter Playland activities, sponsored by Taylor Automotive Family, which feature a 15-foot rocking horse and a bigger-than-life, walk-in snow globe.

All your Lights favorites continue as well, starting with the Zoo’s 85-foot Norway spruce of national acclaim that’s adorned with more than 35,000 energy-saving LED lights. Nearby, the Dancing Lights display enchants visitors of all ages.

The fun continues inside, from a huge model train display to Pedal Power cycles where you can light up a tree all by yourself (and maybe even burn off a few holiday calories!). The award-winning Nature’s Neighborhood will be open, too, and brimming with fun kids’ activities.

Presented by KeyBank, the Lights Before Christmas features more than one million lights, 200 lighted animal images and a whole zoo of Yuletide fun. Admission prices are $12 for adults, $9 for children (2-11) and seniors (60+), and free for children under age 2. Please note that the half-price admission offered during Winter Weekends does not apply to this Encore Presentation.
