Toledo Rep Announces 81st Season
Steve Burnette, Toledo Repertoire Theatre’s Artistic Director is pleased to announce the Toledo Rep’s 2013-2014 season. September 13 through 22 is the side-splitting satirical Broadway musical revue, Forbidden Broadway’s Greatest Hits, created by Gerard Alessandrini. Next up is an Edgy Rep reading of Eric Bogosian’s Talk Radio on October 12. November 8 through 17 sees Joseph Kesselring’s classic comedy Arsenic and Old Lace playing the Tenth Street Stage, while Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol (adapted and revised by David Jex, Debra Ross Calabrese and James M. Norman) returns to the beautiful Valentine Theatre for a weekend of performances on December 6, 7, and 8. January 17 through 26, 2014 the Rep will present Michael Frayn’s hit comedy Noises Off, followed by a Valentine’s Day weekend Special Event of A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters, February 14 through 16. The legendary Tennessee Williams’ drama The Glass Menagerie will be presented April 11 through 20, (2014) and another Special Event weekend will take place on Mother’s Day weekend, May 8 through 11 (2014) with Kim Carney’s comic-drama Moonglow. Mel Brook’s knee-slapping Young Frankenstein, the Musical closes out the Toledo Rep’s 81st season with performances scheduled from June 6 through 22, 2014. With the exception of A Christmas Carol, all performances including the Edgy Rep Reading and the Special Events will take place at the Toledo Repertoire Theatre, located at 16 Tenth Street in downtown Toledo. TIX ON SALE FOR REP’S DEATH OF A SALESMAN
Tickets are now on sale for Toledo Rep’s production of Death of a Salesman. The Pulitzer Prize winning drama penned by Arthur Miller follows Willy Loman, who in his failed struggles for the American Dream has lost sight of everything that matters. Profound and tragic, this beautifully crafted and timeless story is just as relevant today as it was more than half a century ago. Featuring an all-star cast and directed by F. Scott Regan, Death of a Salesman will play the Rep’s Tenth Street stage for seven performances, April 19, 20, 21, 25, 26, 27, and 28. MOMOLOGUES CLOSES REP’S SPECIAL EVENT SERIES
Mother’s Day weekend marks the final installment of the Toledo Rep’s Special Event Series with a unique salute to moms. The MOMologues, written by Lisa Rafferty, Stefanie Cloutier, and Sheila Eppolito, and directed by Elizabeth Cottle is a series of recollections and reflections on motherhood set to comic timing, and a perfect way to say “thank you” to moms everywhere. Performances are Thursday through Saturday night, May 9 through 11 at 8:00 PM and a special Mother’s Day matinee on Sunday, May 12 at 2:30. Tickets are just $15.00 and can be purchased by calling the Toledo Rep box office at (419) 243-9277, or online at toledorep.org. Additionally, the Rep is offering a deal on how you can personalize your own special message to your Mom along with a photo that she’ll see illuminated on stage before the show and during intermission for just $5.00, with proceeds going to The Rep.
