Good Agriculture Practices, GAP Training
Toledo Ohio - Friday, April 19, 1-4:00 p.m. – Lucas County The OSU Fruit and Vegetable Safety Team will be in Northwest Ohio training produce growers and workers on good agricultural practices and food safety for the produce farm. Location: Toledo Botanical Gardens Conference Center, 5403 Elmer Dr. Toledo, OH 43615 Cost is $10.00 per person. Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) Workshops Ohio State University's Fruit and Vegetable Safety Team will be holding a workshop that focuses on preventing microbial contamination on fruit and vegetable farms. The workshop presenters are all specialists from Ohio State University Extension, which is the outreach arm of Ohio State University's College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. Participants will receive a resource workbook, paper handouts and a certificate of participation as verification for their customers that they've received GAPs training. The workshop does not provide formal certification in GAPs. Certification requires a farm audit conducted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture or a third-party company.
