(Released April 15, 2013) - For its sixth year, the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library is swinging out and blaring its horns to the up-tempo as we observe Jazz Appreciation Month with JAM 2013! – a celebration from noon to 5p.m. on Saturday, April 20 at Kent Branch Library Public @CCESS Center, 3101 Collingwood Blvd. This free celebration (including free parking) will feature four bands performing live, 45-minute sets by each jazz act, children’s activities, a snack bar, and artwork by Jelise Roberts, a jazz saxophonist. Observed each April, Jazz Appreciation Month is celebrated nationally and internationally, and it is the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History which operates the world’s most comprehensive set of jazz programs to honor the month.
