BECOMING A WOMAN OF INFLUENCE

Northwest Ohio community members and Bowling Green State University students will have the opportunity to learn from strong females in leadership roles throughout Ohio at “Women in Leadership: Becoming a Women of Influence.” The sold-out free event, which includes breakfast, lunch and networking, takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, in the Lenhart Grand Ballroom of the Bowen-Thompson Student Union at BGSU. A number of the presenters are BGSU graduates, including keynote speaker Amy Shore, senior vice president for field operations with Nationwide Insurance, who will speak at 9:10 a.m. From 10:45 a.m. to noon, an all-star panel includesBGSU alumnaShelley Brazeau Temple, regional vice president with Nationwide; alumna Sharon Speyer, regional president of the northwest Ohio region for Huntington; alumna Maryrose Sylvester, president and CEO of GE Lighting; and Dr. Janet Hartley, a professor of management and director of the BGSU Supply Chain Management Institute. Moderating the panel discussion will be Barbara Waddell, director of equity and diversity at BGSU. The luncheon speaker is Ohio’s first female attorney general and state auditor, Betty Montgomery, also a BGSU graduate.Montgomery is an attorney with the firm of Mac Murray, Petersen & Shuster and is the founder of Montgomery Consulting Group.
