Library participates a second time in Big Library Read!
The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library is excited to announce its continued participation in Big Library Read (eBook and eAudio), a pilot program sponsored by OverDrive, with support from publisher Sourcebooks, Inc., in which libraries worldwide offer a single eBook simultaneously to their customers.
Back in May, the selected eBook debut was author Michael Malone’s The Four Corners of the Sky. Malone’s adult fiction was available to all Toledo-Lucas County Public Library cardholders and was met with great success locally and nationally.
As part of Big Library Read, OverDrive has announced a second book!
This time, the Big Library Read title is a children’s book – Jane O’Connor’s Fancy Nancy: Nancy Clancy, Super Sleuth (HarperCollins). The book will be available to all Toledo-Lucas County Public Library cardholders through the OverDrive app from September 16 through 30 in eBook and eAudio formats. There will be no holds during that period, which means thousands of people can simultaneously read or listen to the book without waiting!
To participate in Big Library Read this second time around, simply visit the Downloadable Media page on toledolibrary.org to download the eBook or eAudio title to your device.
Big Library Read background:
The program spotlights one eBook title for a set time period for library customers around the world to read simultaneously. According to OverDrive, in addition to creating a global “library book club,” Big Library Read is designed to demonstrate the positive exposure and sales influence library eBook catalogs provide to authors and publishers.
About the selected second Big Library Read author:
Jane O’Connor is an editor at a major publishing house who has written more than 70 books for children, including the New York Times’ bestselling Fancy Nancy series. She resides (that’s a fancy word for lives) with her family in New York City.
