Library’s 15th Anniversary Hispanic Heritage Month observan
The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library is proud to present its community-wide Hispanic Heritage Celebration 2013!
Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs September 15 through October 15, celebrates Hispanic heritage and honors independence for the Latin American countries of Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Honduras, and Nicaragua. In addition, both Mexico and Chile are independent.
The Library has proudly observed Hispanic Heritage Month for 15 years, and to mark this special anniversary, several major events, including storytellerLindsay Bonilla’s retelling of the Mexican folktale The Ram in the Chile Patch beginning on Monday, September 16, will highlight the month at various library locations.
A culminating event, sponsored by the Library Legacy Foundation, featuring music, dancing, cooking, art and a salsa contest (courtesy chips from Stadium Salsa) is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 5 at Main Library, 325 Michigan St. Please mark your calendar!
