"Undefined" Exhibition
An exhibition of paintings and drawings by Skot Horn and ceramics by Karen Roderick-Lingeman will be shown from October 12 through November 9, 2013 at the Secor Gallery , 425 Jefferson Ave. Toledo, OH.
A reception for the artist's will be held on Friday, October 12, 2013, from 6pm to 11pm. Bar provided by Registry Bistro.
Skot Horn received his BFA from the School of the Institute of Chicago, studying under painters Susanna Coffey and Rufino Silva.
Of his work Skot says, " Spontaneity is an important quality in my work that I work hard to achieve. A sense of urgency pervades the marks I make on canvas and paper. Allowing intuition to guide my hand has led to many personal insights and unexpected discoveries in search of my own personal truth."
Skot is represented in many private and public collections.
Karen Roderick-Lingeman is a Lecturer at the University of Toledo.
She received her B.ED from the University of Toledo and her MFA from the University of North Dakota.
Karen states, "As a child my family traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada. Memories of those experiences and my continued national and international travels have greatly influence my artwork. Recollections of a specific location or moment in time are not only recollections of the environment or atmospheric condition but are also related to the reason for being at that specific location at that specific time with that specific person. The impressions and stories that inspire my artwork are as much a part of the artwork as the physical piece itself."
Karen's has exhibited her work in international, national & regional exhibitions.
