Urban Legends with Professor Daniel Compora
Way Library invites you to join Professor Daniel Compora of the University of Toledo on Tuesday, October 15 at 7:00 pm for a presentation on urban legends. Professor Compora is an Associate Professor who teaches Composition, Science Fiction & Fantasy literature, and Folklore. He has published in the areas of Distance Learning and Computers and Writing. He is regarded as an expert on Dog Lady Island, a local urban legend from his hometown of Monroe, Michigan, which he has researched since 1987. He contributed this story to Ghost Stories of Michigan, and has given several presentations on this and other urban legends. During this presentation, Professor Compora will discuss well-known legends and explain why we enjoy telling and hearing these scary stories.
