Bessmeltseva Duo to perform at Way Library on November 10
Come enjoy an afternoon of beautiful music at Way Library with the talented Bessmeltseva sisters, Maria and Ekaterina, on Sunday, November 10th at 2:00 pm. This free concert by the violinist-pianist duo will include pieces by Stravinsky, Lyadov, Monti, Elgar, Medtner, Piazzolla and Tchaikovsky.
The Bessmeltseva sisters were born in St. Petersburg, Russia, where they began their musical education at an early age. After performing in both Europe and the United States, the duo continued to study music in America. Maria Bessmeltseva studied at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, Bowling Green State University, and the University of Michigan, where she completed her Doctorate of Musical Arts (DMA). Ekaterina Bessmeltseva studied at Bowling Green State University and received her Master’s Degree in Piano Performance at the University of Southern Florida. She was invited to study at the University of Nevada in 2012, where she is working on her DMA in Piano Performance.
