"Back to the Wild" Wildlife Rehabilitation Center will be releasing a bald eagle at the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge on Thursday, October 31st at 1:30 pm. This adult female eagle was picked up at Metzger Marsh Wildlife Area approximately 7 weeks ago. The bird had high levels of mercury in its blood, but these were not fatal levels. After receiving care from the rehabilitation center in Castalia, Ohio the bird is ready to return to the wild. The Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge invites the public to view this event with us and celebrate its return.
