Classic film Too Many Girls to be shown at Way Library
On Thursday, November 14 at 10:00 a.m., Way Library continues its classic film series, Reel Talk, with the film version of the highly successful Broadway musical "Too Many Girls." Released in 1940, it stars Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz in their first film together. Ann Miller, Eddie Bracken, and--for a brief moment--Van Johnson round out the cast. Rodgers & Hart songs string this college-background story together.
Lucille Ball is a fast-living, spoiled rich kid. Her wealthy father banishes her to an out-in-the-sticks, financially distressed school in New Mexico, but secretly hires four bodyguards to keep an eye on her. The bodyguards join the football team, changing it from worst to best. Desi even has time to perform his famous drum act from the Broadway play which started the conga craze in America.
Phyllis Gallo, Toledo resident and film buff will be the special guest speaker. Admission and refreshments are free. For more information, call 419-874-3135 or visit our website at waylibrary.info.
