Masterworks Chorale presents Mary and the Angels
Kick off the holiday season with Masterworks Chorale as the mixed voice ensemble presents “Mary and the Angels” at 8 p.m. Dec. 7 and 4 p.m. Dec. 8 at Epworth United Methodist Church in Toledo.
The love of a mother for her child, the wonder of new life and the mystery and illumination of angels is the inspiration for this year’s Christmas concert. Enjoy works by Poulenc, Rutter, Lauridsen and the ever popular Christmas carol sing-along.
Also, join Masterworks Chorale at 4 p.m. Dec. 15 at Olivet Lutheran Church in Sylvania to recreate Handel’s “Messiah.” Audience members can sing with the Chorale in an unrehearsed reading of the masterpiece, or just listen. The event is free. Singers are asked to bring a score and a canned food donation for the Olivet Lutheran Church Food Pantry. Scores will be available at the door for a small fee.
