"The World's Fastest Indian" screening at Way Library 1/13
The January installment in Way Library’s popular contemporary film series, Show Me the Movie, is scheduled for Monday, January 13 at 2:00 p.m. Anthony Hopkins stars in “The World’s Fastest Indian” as introverted Burt Munro whose obsessive tinkering with his 1920 Indian motorcycle made him unpopular with his neighbors but eventually turned him into a beloved folk hero in his native New Zealand. When Burt decided to take his ancient machine to the Bonneville Salt Flats to challenge the world speed record in 1967, officials and fellow racers were shocked by his unassuming demeanor and obsolete-looking bike. But Burt was nothing if not confident in his “old girl,” urging her on to break a record. Please join us for this endearing portrayal of Burt Munro on his ride of a lifetime. Adults only.
