"Winter in Wartime" to be shown at Way Library January 17
Way Library continues its Art and Foreign Film Series with “Winter in Wartime,” released in 2008. It’s the Netherlands in January 1945, and the country is still occupied by the Germans. A young Dutch boy, defiant in his hate of the Nazis, discovers and shelters a downed RAF pilot. With the help of the Dutch resistance, the boy attempts to help the pilot escape back to his lines. The film was voted best Dutch movie of 2008 by the Dutch press and received an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Language Film.
This Dutch-language film with English subtitles will be shown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17 in the Mercy Family Activity Center on the main level of the library. No reservations required.
