Way Library to screen Matthew McConaughey film Feb. 4
The February installment in Way Library’s popular contemporary film series Show Me the Movie is “Mud” and is scheduled for Tuesday, February 4 at 2:00 p.m. This 2012 film is the story of two adolescent boys who stumble upon “Mud,” (Matthew McConaughey) a fugitive living in an abandoned boat tangled up in a tree on the swampy backwaters of the Mississippi River. Mud says he is waiting to reunite with his old girlfriend; the teens romanticize his situation, and Mud uses their innocence to his advantage, convincing them to help him repair the old boat while evading not only the law but his enemies who are determined to kill him. A venomous snakebite, a risky rescue, and a dramatic shootout follow in this thrilling but emotionally rewarding coming of age tale. Show Me the Movie screenings are for adults only. Admission and refreshments are free of charge.
