Have a Heart Restock Drive runs from February 3 – 13

Next Monday, the Sylvania Franciscan Village (SFV) will kick-off its 3rd annual Have a Heart Restock Drive to supply hygiene items five local outreach centers: Assumption Outreach Center, Bethany House, Helping Hands of St. Louis, Our Lady of Lourdes Outreach, and Sylvania Area Family Services.

On Saturday, February 8, Lourdes University’s Student Government Association is challenging the community to help them fill up the campus shuttle bus with approximately 2,500 donated items. The bus will be parked in the shopping plaza at the corner of Main Street and Convent Boulevard from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Collection begins on February 3 and ends Thursday, February 13, with all hygiene items distributed on Valentine’s Day. Those wishing to participate in the Have a Heart drive are asked to drop off products such as deodorant, shampoo/conditioner, soap, toilet paper, toothpaste, and washcloths to any one of the various donation boxes located throughout the grounds of the Sylvania Franciscan Village at 6832 Convent Boulevard.

We continue to identify ways to use our many resources for the benefit of our community and chose to collect hygiene items because these are necessities for every household,” shares Sr. Janet Doyle, OP, SFV Administrator.

Formally established in 2009, the Sylvania Franciscan Village (SFV) is comprised of Lourdes University, the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania and Sylvania Franciscan Health.
