Transportation Summit - Revitalization thru Transportation
TMACOG Transportation Summit:
The Role of Transportation in Regional Revitalization
The twentieth Transportation Summit for northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan will be held Friday, April 11, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. at The Pinnacle in Maumee.
The summit is open to the public. It is an opportunity for interested citizens and area transportation stakeholders – including planners, engineers, construction professionals, economic developers, elected and appointed officials, and service providers – to learn about what transportation plans are in the works in the region and to discuss ideas for the future. The theme for the workshops and keynote presentation in 2014 is The Role of Transportation in Regional Revitalization.
Communities and regions across the United States that are working to rebuild and solve local issues are looking to the transportation system as one strategy for revitalization. A focus on transportation infrastructure – roads, bridges, bike paths, railroads – can drive revitalization in aging urban settings and support regional transformation.
