Way Library continues its classic film series Reel Talk with ‘The Devil and Miss Jones.’ Jean Arthur and Robert Cummings star as department store union organizers in this 1941 romantic comedy. They unknowingly befriend the store’s owner, J.P. Merrick—the world’s richest man, who is posing as a shoe salesman at the store in order to flush out the union agitators. While rubbing elbows with the common man, Merrick not only softens to the union movement, but finds himself falling in love with another store clerk. Charles Coburn was nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category for his role as Merrick.
Jan Wahl, local author, film collector, and coordinator for the annual classic film series held at BGSU’s Lillian Gish Theatre, will be the guest speaker.
‘The Devil and Miss Jones’ will be shown Thursday, March 13 at 10:00 a.m. Admission and refreshments are free of charge.
The Reel Talk classic film series is sponsored by Master Chemical.
