Young Rep production of ‘MacBeth, A Cautionary Tale’ March 14-16 at 10th St. stage
The Toledo Repertoire Theatre presents the Young Rep’s MacBeth, A Kid’s Cautionary Tale Concerning Greed, Power, Mayhem, and Other Current Events at 16 10th Street, March 14-16. Presented by actors ages 7 – 13 and directed by Amy Spaulding-Heuring, this shortened, kid-friendly adaptation by Nancy Linehan Charles from William Shakespeare’s popular Scottish tragedy is told within a lively and humorous story-theater frame. MacBeth and his Lady covet the crown while witches, ghosts, kings and soldiers sweep across the landscape, carving out the battle between good and evil. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 12 and younger. Toledo Rep’s ‘Young Frankenstein’ auditions held March 22
Auditions for the Toledo Rep’s Young Frankenstein, The New Mel Brooks Musical will be held at Toledo School for the Arts, 333 14th Street #4, on Saturday, March 22 beginning at 1 p.m. Young Frankenstein , the wickedly inspired re-imagining of the Frankenstein legend, is based on Mel Brooks’ classic 1974 comedy film masterpiece. The story follows bright, young Dr. Frankenstein (that’s Fronkensteen) as he attempts to complete his grandfather’s masterwork and bring a corpse to life with scary and hilarious complications. This musical comedy hit was the winner of the 2008 Outer Critics Circle Award. Accompanied by a live musical combo, the show includes memorable tunes such as “The Transylvania Mania,” “He Vas My Boyfriend” and the famous “Puttin’ On the Ritz.” Directed by Amy Spaulding-Heuring, performances will take place June 6 & 7, 13-15 and 19-22. Toledo Rep and Community Shares to host ‘Harley-Davidson Spring Fling’ fundraiser Sat., March 22
On Saturday, March 22, together with Harley-Davidson, the Toledo Repertoire Theatre and Community Shares are partnering to host the “Harley-Davidson Spring Fling” fundraiser from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Harley-Davidson on West Central Ave. The event will feature music by Kentucky Chrome, a raffle, and food and beverages will be available for purchase. Join fellow community supporters for an early evening of food, entertainment and fun. Proceeds will benefit the Toledo Repertoire Theatre.
