Bowling Green, Ohio – The Wellness Connection at Bowling Green State University is hosting a 5K run and dog walk Saturday, April 26 to benefit the SAAFE Center in Wood County. The 6th annual event coincides with Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Located in Bowling Green, Ohio, the SAAFE Center is Wood County’s rape crisis center and offers 24/7 accessibility through The Link Hotline. SAAFE provides crisis intervention, emotional support, medical and legal advocacy, support groups, information, and referrals for victims of sexual assault, stalking, sexual harassment, and sex trafficking. All services are free.

Help is accessible 24-hours-a-day by calling The Link Hotline at 419.352.1545 or 800.472.9411.

“We had 136 new cases in fiscal year 2013. Some of those cases were one-time contacts, some clients we work with for weeks or months, a few we work with for several years. It’s all based on the survivor’s needs,” commented SAAFE Program Director, Julie Broadwell. “In this current grant year, which started October 1, 2013, we have 71 new clients to date.”
Visit and register by April 1, 2014 to guarantee t-shirt size availability.
