Lourdes University's 2014 Luminations event
On Saturday, April 26, business leaders and members of the community will gather for Lourdes University’s signature fundraising event, Luminations. John Bates, Chief Executive Officer for Heidtman Steel, and Sarah Bates, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Nu Tek Steel, will serve as Honorary Chairs. Together, they also serve as Chairs of the Norman and Louise Jones Foundation. Joining Heidtman Steel as platinum sponsors for this year’s event are Steel Dynamics and Sylvania Franciscan Health. Lourdes alumna Chrys Peterson will serve as emcee.
?Beginning at 6 p.m., guests will celebrate an evening of cocktails, grazing stations and an expansive silent auction followed by performances from the Toledo Ballet, the Artists in Residence at the Toledo Opera, and the Toledo Symphony Brass Quintet. A three- time guest of Luminations, actor Timothy Shew will perform a series of Broadway numbers as well as a special tribute to the late Jim Findlay; who was a personal friend of both Timothy and Lourdes. Timothy recently played Chef Louis in Broadway’s The Little Mermaid.
?“Lourdes is thankful to have many wonderful supporters, whose generosity provides one of life’s most precious gifts – the gift of a college education! Each year we are blessed to be able to spend an evening with our friends in celebration of the arts and education, and this year carries additional significance as we honor our friend Jim Findlay who was a great supporter of not only Luminations, but of the University as well,” expresses Mary Arquette, Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
?Caroline “Callie” Bunch, who will graduate from Lourdes in May with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, will serve as the student speaker. Tickets are $125 per person.
