Bring Mom to the Zoo for a Wild Time This Mother’s Day
Show Mom that she is the best by bringing her to the Toledo Zoo for Mother’s Day, sponsored by Mercy. All moms receive free Zoo admission when accompanied by one or more children, only on Sunday, May 11.
In addition to Mom’s free admission, your whole family will enjoy live music, animal demonstrations and crafts all across the Zoo. An optional extra is the Zoo’s full-service Mother’s Day brunch in the historic Lodge; times, prices and delicious menu details are at toledozoo.org/mothersday. This outing fills fast, so reserve your family’s place today at 419.385.5721, ext. 6001 (advance reservations only).
Be sure to mark your calendar for a return visit May 23-25, when the all-new Penguin Beach opens. You’ll get closer than ever to the penguins with dynamic underwater viewing and a path that leads you right through the exhibit. Opening Weekend is sponsored by Kroger.
Fun events like these are among the reasons why the Toledo Zoo is rated second among the nation’s zoos, and eighth among overall family attractions, by FamilyFunMagazine. The Zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (starting May 3, weekend hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.), and it is located on the Anthony Wayne Trail (US 25), four miles south of downtown Toledo. For more information, visit toledozoo.org or call 419.385.4040. Lucas County residents are admitted free of charge each non-holiday Monday from 10 a.m. to noon. ID showing proof of residency is required.
