Holy Celebration Batman!
The Toledo-Lucas County Public Library is celebrating Batman turning 75 this year with a host of FREE, fun activities:
I. Batman @ 75! Movie Marathon – It’s true – the Caped Crusader hits 75 this year! Though boasting humble beginnings in the pages of comic books, Batman has also graced many TV and movie screens – and several actors have taken on the role of this masked vigilante. We’ve got five of those portrayers to show you, each a unique interpretation of the character. Watch them all on our big screen and vote for your favorite during ourFREE week-long marathon! Who will be your favorite Batman? (For all ages.) The following movies are all scheduled to be shown in the McMaster Center at Main Library, 325 Michigan St.:
Ø Monday, July 21 from 1-3 p.m. – Batman the Movie
Ø Tuesday, July 22 from 1-3 p.m. – Batman Forever
Ø Wednesday, July 23 from 6-8:20 p.m. – Batman Begins
Ø Thursday, July 24 from 1-3 p.m. – Batman
Ø Friday, July 25 from 1-3 p.m. – Batman and Robin
II. Holy Celebration, Batman! – The Dark Knight is 75 this year and we’re celebrating! We’ve got crafts and puzzles ready to make all your bat-senses happy. Drop in and join the FREE fun. Swish! Whamm! Pow!

III. Ka-Pow! Batman is 75! – Join local comic book writer and historian Jim Beard and his Bat-Thespians as they delve into the Batcave to uncover 75 years of the Dark Knight’s adventures in “reader’s theatre”-style. Discover how Batman and his world evolved through eight decades, as one of the most popular fictional characters of all time conquered challenges ranging from comic book adversaries to real-world situations. This FREE program is brought to you by Monarch Comics and the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library (For all ages.)
