Toledo Zoo Offers New Experiences, Money-saving Deals
Fun takes flight this summer at the Toledo Zoo, with new visitor experiences and money-saving deals.
If you’ve ever wondered what happens behind the scenes at the Zoo, you’ll love this year’s Behind-the-Scenes tours, now through Labor Day weekend. These separate-fee tours feature penguins, Watusi cattle, rhinos and more, taking you closer than ever to amazing animals.
The fun continues right through your lunch break, with Picnic on Safari. Enjoy a sit-down meal by the Africa! exhibit as giraffes, kudu, impala and more relax in the background. You can even add an ostrich feed to the experience.
Continuing this year are family-favorite rides on the Safari Railway train, African Animal carousel and historic carousel. Ride passes make these opportunities more affordable than ever; the Zoo’s Visitor Services team will help you choose the best ride pass at 419.385.5721, ext. 6003.
While you’re at the Zoo, don’t miss the all-new Flamingo Key, Penguin Beach and ‘Keet Retreat. Flamingo Key, sponsored by Toledo Express Airport, shows off the “avian supermodels” back at the Zoo for the first time in decades. Near Primate Forest, Penguin Beach leads you right through the penguins’ exhibit, along with daily keeper-led penguin feeds sponsored by ProMedica. Just a couple minutes away, ‘Keet Retreat, sponsored by BP, offers a fun new walk-through encounter with these bright, friendly little birds.
