Auditions for "The Last Five Years"
Fremont, OH, April 24, 2014– Fremont Community Theatre and Director Mitchell Antesky announce open auditions for the Drama Desk Award Winning musical “The Last Five Years”, with music, book and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown, 2014 Tony Award Winner for “The Bridges of Madison County”. This two-person musical explores the five-year relationship of a couple with a bit of a twist in the storytelling.
Auditions will be held Sunday July 27, 6 PM at Fremont Community Theatre, ONE NIGHT ONLY. An alternate time may be available by contacting Director Mitchell Antesky, 419-356-6959. Those auditioning should come with a memorized, prepared song and sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. No recorded music or a cappella songs please. This story of this show is mostly sung; memorization and singing stamina are key.
Roles available are:
CATHERINE HIATT: Character arcs from a woman stunned by a betrayal and a divorce that she is only beginning to understand to an ambitious, fresh-faced girl in a new relationship (Female, 25-35 yrs old; Range: F3 - D#5).
JAMIE WELLERSTEIN: Character arcs from an ambitious guy on a promising first date with a dazzling career to someone who is blinded by success and ego. He is very lovable, yet makes unintentional choices that sabotages his own happiness (Male, 25-35 yrs old; Range: A2 - Bb4).
The live music for this production will also require a pianist and a string quartet consisting of violin, two cellos, acoustic guitar and string bass. Interested individuals should contact the director for further details.
