Meet Local Doll Artist Tracy Swartz at Lighthouse Landing
Meet and greet local gourd doll artist Tracy Swartz this Saturday, July 26,
2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m at Light House Landing, 4441 Summit
Street,Toledo, OH in the scenic lake side community of Point Place.
Tracy Swartz (a.k.a. The Domestic Gourdess) is the founder and creator of
Soul Heart Dolls, whimsical, sassy and colorful art dolls made with dried gourds.
She, along with other artists, will give you a peek behind the creative curtain.
Tracy Swartz will be creating artwork at the event and answer any questions
regarding working with dried gourds as an art medium. Her unique dolls will
be on display and available for purchase.
Tracy Swartz lives in Lake Township, Ohio and creates her art in her home
studio. She says, "I love evoking people’s inner happy, warm-fuzzies, and
lightness. The dolls, their characters, and stories remind us to stay soft,
connect to that child-like wonder of the world and to find the magic dust
in the mundane. Also, I love being a female human being. Gourds provide
the perfect medium to express all our wondrous, silly, sassy, beautiful facets.
Gourds are perfect for the female shape and Mother Nature creates them in
a lovely variety of tantalizing shapes and sizes and textures. Each one is a
unique individual just like we are."
Lighthouse Landing Antiques, Art, & Crafts Mall offers an eclectic mix of
upscale art, antiques, and crafts in a gift boutique atmosphere. Also, they
serve coffee, refreshments, and baked goods. Lighthouse Landing offers a
banquet hall to rent for community events. They are located at 4441 N.
Summit St. in Toledo, Ohio in the scenic lake side community of Point Place.
Lighthouse Landing's hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to
8:00 p.m. and Saturdays and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
