Social Program Uncovers Downtown Treasures
I Spy Downtown Began July 1
Where can you learn about some of the great places in Downtown Toledo’s past and present, and earn a chance at winning prizes at the same time? The I Spy Downtown program, which began July 1 online, tests participants’ knowledge of the history of Downtown buildings, along with present-day businesses in the area.
“Toledo’s Downtown is filled with great stories that people may not know,”
explained Bill Thomas, executive director of the Downtown Toledo Improvement District, which is presenting I Spy Downtown. “We also have a range of unique and interesting businesses downtown, and this program helps to showcase them and encourage more people to visit.”
I Spy Downtown is offered through the Downtown Toledo Facebook and Twitter pages and on its website. Clues are offered for two locations each week, and participants are asked to submit their answers online. One $25.00 gift card will be awarded every other week to a randomly selected name from those who answer any of the previous two weeks’ clues correctly. The first two winners were awarded gift cards on July 11 and 25; the next gift card will be awarded on August 8. “Our first two winners selected gift cards from Ahava Spa and Wellness Center and Pizza Papalis,” said Thomas. “For our next drawing, The Toledo Club is offering a Pair and Share dining package worth $70. We will be offering a variety of gift cards in the coming weeks.
“We’ll also be presenting some special twists to the program, such as an actual scavenger hunt or two, and several opportunities to enter through Instagram,” Thomas said.
