Way Library and PRIZM offer computer art classes
Way Library and PRIZM Creative Community are co-sponsoring a series of classes on Computer Art and Digital Imagery. These classes will meet in the library’s Technology Lab once a week for four weeks, with an additional “open lab” period on Fridays for independent work. Technical topics to be covered include image types, file sizes, DPI, printing, copyright issues, filters, layering, masks, pixel level editing, presentation, watermarking, and various software packages (such as Photoshop Elements), both free and paid. Artistic topics to be covered include special considerations for the critiquing of computer art, composition, form, and subject matter.
All students MUST be proficient in the use of the mouse, saving files, copying and pasting, and must also be familiar with Windows.
There are two class options available—Monday morning classes, or Tuesday evening classes. Monday morning classes are held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on September 8, 15, 22, and 29. Tuesday evening classes are held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on September 9, 16, 23, and 30. Advance registration is required by calling Travis McAfee at 419-874-3135 ext 103. Class size is limited.
