Sterling State Park hosts Toledo Division Bass Tournament September 14th

Toledo, Ohio - On Sunday, September 14th, Sterling State Park (2800 State Park Rd, Monroe, MI) will host a Great Lakes Largemouth Series (GLLS) tournament for the new Toledo division of GLLS.

GLLS is a tournament series dedicated to largemouth bass started by DJ Plotner and Dave Hoheisel in 2010. With the addition of Toledo, the series and now consists of 5 divisions.

Central Erie, Ohio
Cleveland, Ohio
Detroit River, Michigan
Presque Isle Bay, Pennsylvania
Toledo, Ohio

Despite disbelievers of bass existing in the Maumee, the success of the GLLS Toledo division proves they exist in great numbers and size. The winners of this last weekend's Toledo Division GLLS Tournament (McCafferty) took home a 1st place cash prize for 5 largemouth bass weighing 16.15 lbs. from the Maumee River system and the biggest bass weighing in at 5.11 lbs. (Wilkins). The tournament attracts teams from Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. The top 3 walked away with cash prizes and all competitors receive valuable sponsor promotional products.

The Toledo division tournaments are presented by Bass Pro Shops of Rossford, Ohio. Local sponsors include ProTech Property Services and LaRiche Toyota along with national sponsors Lowrance, Gamma Fishing Line, and Nitro Performance Bass Boats.
