The Flying Joe Launches Coffee Truck Kickstarter Campaign
The Flying Joe, an independent, artisan coffee house located in Perrysburg, Ohio, launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise funds to purchase a coffee truck.
Every dollar raised will go towards the purchase of the truck, equipment and build-out. Backers of the Kickstarter campaign choose from rewards including handcrafted espresso drinks and beans, limited-edition Flying Joe Kickstarter t-shirt, coffee truck visits and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fly in a plane with Flying Joe owners John and Becky Ohm (both are military-trained pilots).
“We’re trying to put specialty coffee into the hands of every member of our community, and we can’t do it from a single, stationary location,” commented Becky Ohm. “The experience we’re looking to offer is something that has yet to touch ground in Toledo, and we think it’ll inspire the small coffee community around us to bring coffee to the next level in Ohio.”
Once outfitted, the coffee truck will be available for festivals and community events as well as weddings, parties and family reunions. In addition to serving specialty coffee and coffee drinks using locally-roasted beans from Populace Coffee (Bay City, Michigan) and Actual Coffee (Toledo, Ohio), the truck will serve scratch-baked goods from their bake shop and All Crumbs Bakery (Toledo, Ohio).
“What we are asking for is not just an opportunity to spread our wings and move outside of the shop. What we are asking for is the opportunity to share something with the community that hasn’t been brought to the table yet,” said Bri Gibson, general manager of The Flying Joe.
