Annual Have A Heart Drive Restocks Local Pantries

On February 4th, Sylvania Franciscan Village (SFV) will kick-off its 4th annual Have a Heart Restock Drive to supply hygiene items to five local outreach centers: Assumption Outreach Center, Claver House, Helping Hands of St. Louis, Our Lady of Lourdes Outreach Soup Kitchen, and Sylvania Area Family Services.

“The theme for this year’s drive is ‘Can you spare a square?’ and our goal is to donate 1,000 rolls of toilet tissue to these outreach centers,” says Sr. Janet Doyle, OP, SFV Administrator. The drive runs from February 4-12 with distribution of items occurring on February 13.

Collection boxes will be located on the Sisters of St. Francis grounds and Lourdes University campus at 6832 Convent Blvd., in Sylvania. Those wishing to make a donation, can bring their items to one of the following locations:

· Umbria Hall
· Russell Ebeid Hall Welcome Center
· St. Joseph Hall
· Assisi Hall
· Rosary Care
· Sophia Center

“The Sylvania Franciscan Village is founded on strong community relationships and our belief that working together we can accomplish so much more. We continue to identify ways to use our many resources for the benefit of our community,” adds Sr. Janet.

Formally established in 2009, the Sylvania Franciscan Village is comprised of all the ministries of the Sisters of St. Francis, including Lourdes University.
