Toledo Jazz Orchestra Septet Salutes Big Bands

Toledo, Ohio — Toledo Jazz Orchestra Septet will open the 2015 Black & White Sedan Bistro Series with a tribute to Big Bands. The Septet will play the arrangements of greats such as Count Basie, Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman, Glenn Miller, Artie Shaw and many more.

Featured with the Septet will be Mark Randisi, who will sing his Frank Sinatra arrangements that have been written by David Van De Pitte. Van De Pitte, arranged many of Motown’s most successful records including those by Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Jackson 5, and Stevie Wonder.

The Toledo Jazz Orchestra Septet, which is led by Ron Kischuk (trombone), is comprised of Jeff Halsey (bass), Dan Maslanka (drums), Russ Miller (clarinet/saxophone), Gene Parker (clarinet/saxophone), Johnny Trudell (trumpet) and Tad Weed (piano).

Tickets for this tribute event range are $30 for Toledo Club members and $35 for non-members. Tickets may be purchased from the Valentine Theatre box office by calling 419.242.2787 or by visiting the Valentine Theatre website. All tickets include heavy hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar is available.
