Way's Reel Art series continues with free showing of "Shine"
Way Public Library continues its Reel Art International and Art Film Series with a free showing of ‘Shine,’ a film which received seven Oscar nominations. Geoffrey Rush won the Oscar for Best Actor for his role as the real-life classical pianist David Helfgott in this compelling biopic. As an exceptionally talented young pianist with a fragile psyche, Helfgott is driven to near madness by his overly protective and demanding father. A very public nervous collapse is followed by 15 years in a psychiatric hospital before a chance encounter inspires his recovery and triumphant return to the stage.
