Intro to Tai Chi at Way Library

Way Library will host an Introduction to Tai Chi class on Wednesdays in May, (May 6th, May 13th, May 20th, and May 27th) from 1:30-2:30 pm. The four-week course will be led by Linda Hill and Kathy Farber and will introduce participants to Tai Chi and some of the basic elements such as breathing, flexibility and balance exercises. The instructors will also introduce 24, one of the international forms practiced all over the world.

Linda Hill and Kathy Farber have been playing Tai Chi for over 17 years as students and teachers and have experience helping diverse groups of people learn this martial art. Kathy and Linda play and teach a variety of forms and also do Kung Fu, which includes empty hands forms as well as broad and straight sword and iron fan and iron chop sticks. Sifu Edmond Oliveros, the national champion of the Chinese Martial Arts Federation of the Philippines, was instrumental to their learning Tai Chi and Kung Fu.

The cost for the four-week program is $5, payable at the time of registration. Participants can register at the Information Desk or by calling (419)874-3135, x119. Please wear tennis shoes and clothing that allows you to move freely. You should always consult a doctor before beginning any exercise routine.
