The 4th Annual Tiffin Music & Art Festival
[TIFFIN, OHIO 5/26/2015] - The 2015 Tiffin Music and Art Festival is to be held at Hedges-Boyer Park on June 12th and June 13th. This community festival is in its fourth year of operation, with a mission to promote culture within the Tiffin area and bring awareness to the incredible power of the arts.
All staff members of the event serve on a volunteer basis, and profits from the event are re-invested in the Tiffin community. The organization has raised over $6,500 for various charitable and community causes, including donating $4,500 to the city of Tiffin in 2013 to save the Fireworks celebration. This year, the organization has introduced the TMAF scholarship program, providing a scholarship to high school seniors from Tiffin Columbian and Tiffin Calvert who are going on to pursue a degree in the arts.
This year’s festival begins on Friday June 12th at 4pm, with performances from over 30 different bands on 4 outdoor stages within a large beer garden area and music lasting until just past midnght. The festival will re-open on Saturday June 13th at 10am, with music on up to 5 outdoor stages at various times throughout the day with music lasting until just past midnight.
In all, over 65 performances are scheduled to take place during the entire event. There is to be a great variety of food, over 40 hand-made craft vendors, as well as an eclectic display of artwork from artists in the surrounding area and beyond.
There is to be an interactive workshop area hosted by IllumiKnation Station, a grassroots education initiative teaching the ways of yoga, peace, and enlightenment. Workshops will be held on both Friday and Saturday, and include but are not limited to: live art demonstrations, hula hooping, flowarts demonstrations, musicians workshops, juggling sticks, poetry readings, and doula art therapy.
There will be a community area sponsored by the National Machinery Foundation that features bouncy inflatables, face painting, games, hair decorations, demonstrations on how to make home-made old-fashioned ice cream on site, as well as other childrens activities. There is a free Family stage in the community area, with family friendly live music from Noon until 6pm on Saturday.
