Weather with Ryan Wichman at Way Library
Way Library welcomes WTOL meteorologist Ryan Wichman for two nights of weather presentations. On July 13th at 7 pm, Ryan will discuss severe weather and his own experience with storm chasing. On July 22nd at 7 pm, he will focus on how a forecast is made and the ins and outs of being a weatherman.
Ryan joined WTOL in March 2011 and is the evening meteorologist for WTOL 11 News on Saturday and Sunday. He also does the weather for WTOL 11 News at Noon early in the week and co-hosts WTOL 11 Your Day. Ryan grew up in Bowling Green and attended Western Illinois University. It was the time spent in Illinois where he discovered his favorite hobby, storm chasing. The biggest chase he has been on was near Wakita, OK in May 2010, safely getting within a half mile of an EF-3 tornado. Besides storm chasing, Ryan enjoys spending time outside, playing sports, biking, camping, anything to get some fresh air in the lungs!
The programs are free and open to the public. Registration is not required. Refreshments will be provided.
