Local Artist, Bradley Scherzer, Paints a Pet Rescue Themed Mural in UpTown Toledo

Art Corner Toledo, with administrative funding support from Toledo City Council and Lucas County Commissioners, has organized an opportunity for local artist, Bradley Scherzer, to highlight the work of pet rescue and adoption in the Toledo area by painting a vibrantly colorful mural on the Adams Street facing side of Superior Impressions Printing company at 327 12th Street. Additional funding support provided by The Village on Adams and Toledo Metro Federal Credit Union allowed the artist to buy high quality paint and supplies to accommodate the vivid colors the design called for. During the Winter and Spring months of 2015, Art Corner Toledo held a series of community meetings in UpTown during which local artists were invited to submit their designs after hearing input from community members. Doug Shelton, the building owner, had given permission to paint the wall back in 2012 when The Love Wall was being painted and it took until this year to line up the funding to execute the project. Scherzer's design was chosen and traveled through the local approval process and in May, was given the go ahead to begin painting when the weather and the artist's schedule allowed. Brad Scherzer will be compensated by funding granted to Art Corner Toledo from Lucas County Commissioners. He is the most recent YAAW (Young Artists at Work) coordinator and has been a working artist in Toledo for several years. Brad has contributed to the creative renaissance in Toledo and Art Corner Toledo is thrilled to have him on board.
