UT to Hold Bookbinding Workshop Oct. 24, Open to the Public
WHEN: Saturday October 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. WHERE: UT Center for Visual Arts (620 Grove Place, next to TMA) COST: $60 Class Only (includes materials) $80 Class + bookbinding supply kit to take home INSTRUCTOR: Courtney Macklin REGISTER: utoledo.edu/Comm-Arts/Art/ or call 419.530.8300 A book is considered miniature if it is less than three inches in all directions.In this one-day class participants will learn three different bindings: accordion, Japanese stab stitch, and case bound. Participants not only walk away with three nifty books, but also written instructions for each binding. Those interested should bring a pencil, ruler, and scissors to the workshop. All other materials will be provided. As an alternative to blank paper, participants can bring their own decorative paper or works of art on paper to bind up.
