March Events at the Toledo Zoo
TOLEDO, Ohio – Whether March comes in like a lion or goes out like a lamb, the Toledo Zoo is your source for spring family fun! Weekdays through March 18 | Online Discounts During the first three weeks of March, the Zoo is offering discounted admission coupons to make family fun even more affordable. The coupon is available online at toledozoo.org and is valid weekdays (Monday through Friday) March 1-18. Guests must present the coupon (printed or digital) at the entry gate to receive the discount. Coupon may be combined with other offers, yet only one coupon is necessary per transaction. The coupon does not apply to groups of 20 or more. March 1- 19 | Animal Tales: Animal Babies Preschool aged children are invited to attend this three-week educational series. Classes meet three days a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday) for one hour each day. Students will enjoy meeting a live animal, doing a fun craft, playing games and reading stories. March 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19 | Snooze at the Zoo Spending the night at the Zoo is a wildly good time for families, groups and schools. During the overnight adventure, guests make enrichment for our animals, tour the Zoo, meet animals up close and enjoy delicious catered meals. Each Snooze lasts from 6:30 p.m. - 10 a.m. the next day. Saturday, March 5 | Family Zoo Yoga Join the Zoo for some healthy family fun. All ages are invited to bend like a giraffe, balance like a flamingo and bounce like an otter! Learn all about some of your favorite Zoo residents while participating in animal inspired yoga poses. This class runs 10-11 a.m. and continues the first Saturday of each month through June. Saturday, March 12 | Teddy Bear Tea Party Children ages five-12 are invited to bring their favorite teddy to a tea party at the Toledo Zoo. Come and enjoy a snack along with games and stories while learning about some of the Zoo’s favorite bears. Party-goers will also have the opportunity to make enrichment for Zoo animals and watch as they enjoy the special treat! Wednesday, March 16 | Watch it Grow garden tour Meet at Ziem’s Conservatory and wear comfortable walking shoes as our horticulture staff guides this informative and beautiful tour of the Zoo’s greenhouse. Friday, March 18 | Wine Tasting Ages 21 & up enjoy a delectable array of wines, hors d’oeuvres, live music and socializing surrounded by the historical beauty of the Museum of Science from 7 – 9 p.m. Advanced tickets are required. Saturday, March 19 | Teddy Bear Care Fair Bring your favorite stuffed pal and Zoo volunteers will make sure it’s fixed up and fit for another year of fun! Visitors and their stuffies can also enjoy keeper and vet talks, animal feeds and demonstrations, puppet shows, activities and more. This event runs 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and is free with Zoo admission. The Teddy Bear Care Fair- it’s stuffed with fun! Additional information available at toledozoo.org/teddybear. Friday, March 25 | Animal Egg Hunt Visitors can enjoy watching their favorite Zoo animals discover what enrichment treats the Easter Bunny left in their baskets. Friday, March 25 & Saturday, March 26 | Breakfast with the Bunny Bring the whole family to the Zoo for the complete spring experience from 9 – 11 a.m. Begin with an egg hunt, then sit down in the Lodge for a breakfast buffet, get pictures taken with the bunny, meet a new animal friend and enjoy fun crafts and activities. Tuesday, March 29 – April 1 | Spring Break Camp Need something fun for your children to do that keeps the learning going while on spring break from school? Sign them up for Spring Break Camp at the Toledo Zoo. Campers ages five - 12 will enjoy spending the day exploring animal exhibits, making crafts and enrichment and playing fun and educational games.
