Ohio Council of Criminal Justice Education Conference returns to Lourdes University

Lourdes University and the Department of Sociology and Justice Studies are pleased to host the 2016 Ohio Council of Criminal Justice Education (OCCJE) Conference on Friday, April 15. Dr. Dale Lanigan, Chair of the Lourdes University Department of Sociology and Justice Studies is OCCJE President. Keynote speaker for the conference is Lucas County Sheriff John Tharpe. The morning introduction session and keynote address and luncheon will take place in the Ebeid Center. Morning and afternoon breakout sessions will occur in Mother Adelaide and Russell Ebeid Halls on the Lourdes campus, 6832 Convent Blvd., in Sylvania. Those interested in joining the Ohio Council of Criminal Justice Education and attending the conference can contact Dr. Lanigan at 419-824-3826 by April 1. Students from a number of schools will present on a variety of research topics. Institutions represented include Bowling Green State University, Cedarville University, Defiance College, Lourdes University, Notre Dame College, Ohio Northern University, Tiffin University, the University of Akron, and Youngstown State University. The Ohio Council of Criminal Justice Education is a nonprofit organization established more than 40 years ago. OCCJE’s mission is to promote education and research in the administration of criminal justice and to facilitate communication and cooperation with practitioners on the matters of mutual interest concerning education in criminal justice.
