Toledo, OH, April 12, 2016 – Fallen Timbers Fairway is once again partnering with Cancer Connection of Northwest Ohio, Inc. (CCNWO) for the 2nd annual “5K On The Fairway” Walk/Run on Sunday, May 15.

Come join us for a unique Cross Country Style scenic walk/run on the Fairways of Fallen Timbers Golf Course. This 5k will cover concrete and grass fairways with a great winding view of the entire course. We are participating to honor those we have lost, with all proceeds from the event to go to the Cancer Connection of Northwest Ohio.

CCNWO offers personal, hands-on support for cancer patients and their families in our community. They create unique programs and coordinate services that provide for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of patients and families fighting cancer. Money raised at the 5K will be used to fund services in the community, including the Hand-in-Hand program which offers accompaniment to physician appointments and weekly check-in phone calls. Free services also include Mentoring, Holistic Therapy, Children’s Programs and Spiritual Care Programs, among other things.

“I have always enjoyed fundraising and keeping proceeds local”, says Mike McArthur, event director. “This cause is very personal to me with losing two uncles to cancer in less than 6 months last year. Cancer Connection of Northwest Ohio represents all the qualities I look for in an organization to assist.”

“This event is for both runners and walkers. 100% of the proceeds stay in our community to continue supporting local cancer patients and their families – ALL cancers and ALL ages,” added Jean Schoen, Founder & President of CCNWO.

The fee for the run is $20, and includes a t-shirt for all those who pre-register by May 8. Don’t want to walk or run? You can still honor those you have lost by printing off a pledge form and collecting donations. Those who raise $100 or more in pledges will receive a CCNWO t-shirt.
