Public Hearing on Lake Erie

Posted: Wednesday, May 4, 2016 by: Mike Ferner | Category: Community Interest

Public Hearing
Monday, May 16 4:00pm
City Council Chambers, Government Center

City Council will hold this hearing to allow a representative from Limno-Tech Inc., of Ann Arbor, to explain what an impaired watershed designation for Lake Erie is about.

Numerous citizens, some of whom are long-time experts on this subject, have testified, written and called Council and the Mayor, urging the City to join with the Lucas County Commissioners and the City of Oregon to support having the U.S. EPA make the "impaired watershed" designation.

For unknown reasons, this hearing is being billed as the definitive word on a subject city officials have avoided for the better part of a year.
