Red Bird Summer Social – Explore Art, Celebrate Community
Creative community energy is in Downtown Sylvania and the Red Bird Arts District is excited to host another First Friday Art Walk on August 5th, 2016. Wander among 25+ businesses throughout the arts district including fine art galleries, distinctive boutiques, restaurants and creative spaces while enjoying the exquisite summer weather. Each stop along the art walk offers you a different creative and inspiring experience such as fine art exhibitions, live music, artist demonstrations and fine food. This month the Arts District will be celebrating Red Bird Summer Social – Explore Art, Celebrate Community. Explore local arts, enjoy live music, shop the boutiques and enjoy delicious food and drinks! Come socialize with your friends, family and neighbors in Red Bird Arts District. Friends for Life, a collaboration between ProMedica Cancer Institute and WTOL NEWS 11, is pleased to present the very first community and member meet-up, or Knit-Up. They’re inviting all experienced knitters and crocheters to bring their yarn and needles for an evening of crafting and connecting. Choose your cancer awareness color! We’re all affected by cancer in one way or another. Whether you’re a survivor, or you’re representing a loved one who was diagnosed with cancer, your yarn art will demonstrate awareness for the types of cancer that are prevalent in our community. By the end of the event the 17x22 inch knitted rectangles will be installed in several colorful yarn art displays on the pergola at the Sylvania Historical Village. Come celebrate our community during the First Friday Art Walk – celebrating with our independent businesses, local artists, musicians and culinary creations in Downtown Sylvania!
