The Polly Fox Academy “Head Full of Dreams Initiative”
In an effort to encourage and inspire the Polly Fox Academy (www.pollyfox.org) students to actively participate in school and graduate, the Polly Fox Academy board and staff are excited to launch the Head Full of Dream Initiative. The Polly Fox Academy is an alternative school for 7-12 grade pregnant and parenting girls with one common goal - to finish high school. On Friday, August 26, 2016 at 9am, local photographers and make-up artists from the Toledo community will volunteer their time to make the Polly Fox students portrait-ready for the launch of the Head Full of Dream Initiative. Students will write out one dream they have had for themselves that they’ve locked away. Students will hold this written representation of their dream and the photographer will take a picture of them. These portraits will then reside on the Head Full of Dreams Wall at the Polly Fox Academy. After the students take their photos, the students, staff and board will kick-off the year with food and fun in the parking lot. For each month in the 2016-2017 school year, the teachers of the Polly Fox Academy will choose a Dreams take Wing Student of the Month. In order for dreams to take wing, it takes work, discipline, and a positive attitude. Students will be chosen for this monthly award based on the following categories: Attendance, Performance, Attitude & Character. Each monthly, Dreams take Wing Student of the Month will be featured on social media, along with the Dreams Take Wing Alumni of the Month; appear on a local news outlets and receive other incentives throughout the month. At the end of the school year, a student will be chosen as the Dreams take Wing Student of the Year, and all students will receive their personal portrait as a token of taking their dreams to wing for the year. Participation Requirements: Students must be enrolled at the Polly Fox Academy and attending school before August 26th.
